Dr. Zeaman's Same Day Denture (Flipper)

I know you do not want to be without your teeth while you heal after extractions. I have developed a technique using my over 30 years of experience in oral surgery and prosthetics (denture and partials) to replace missing teeth the same day as they are removed. If you have unsaveable or unwanted teeth, I will work with my technician Danny. Danny, whose father is a dentist, grew up in South America and has been involved in dentistry for over 20 years. Our goal is to provide you with very natural-looking teeth the afternoon of your surgery.

The cost for this service is a nominal $575.00 and is non-refundable. Here's how it works. After your consultation when you decide to have your procedure done, you make your payment with the receptionist and an appointment will be made at our office.  These appointments are usually scheduled on Friday. If you wish to have medication before the visit, a prescription will be given for something to relax you and make the procedure easier. If you take a narcotic, you must have a driver.

You will arrive for your appointment at 10:15 a.m. After checking in with the receptionist, Please be sure you are seated with Danny right away. You and Danny will start by looking at the color and shape of the teeth that will be best for you. If for some reason you decide later that you want to change the look of the teeth, you can do so on your final denture. However, most of the time, the patients love Danny's "look".

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me. We want you to be comfortable. Remember, during the procedure, you simply raise your left hand if anything bothers you. "Novocain" does not affect our sensations of pressure or noise. It affects just the sensation of discomfort. There will be a TV on in the room, or you can bring your own headphones.

Following the surgery, Danny will instruct you to return to the office at about 4:00 P.M. that same day to be fitted for your denture. You will receive an at home care kit and instructions. When your denture is placed that afternoon, you will no longer be biting on gauze. Sometimes, dissolving sutures (stitches) are places and denture tend to make the area "ooze" a little. This is normal. Remember when one drop of blood mixes with saliva, everything turns pink. Don't use your best pillowcase that first night, as oozing may occur until the next day. If you feel that you are experiencing is more than just oozing, remove the denture and bite on a moist teabag. You may leave the denture in for the first few nights after surgery. It will act like a "band aid", and make you feel better. You should have soft foods available for your meals, and I recommend that you keep ice in a washcloth on the outside of your face 15 minutes and 15 minutes off, per side, for the rest of the day. The first 7-10 hours after surgery are critical to healing.

You should wear these teeth for a minimum of 6-8 weeks for healing and shrinking. If you develop sore spots, please return for a no charge follow up visits. Do not adjust your denture at home. Factory service only, do not void your warranty. Also, I do not charge for smoothing any bone chips that may develop. That's a less traumatic appointment, and you can generally return to work. We are very conservative with your mouth and wait for nature to heal before removing anything extra.

My staff is very thorough and will assist you each step of the way, if you have any other questions, or if there is anything we can do to make you more comfortable, please let us know. You'll do fine.
